The Internship Residency Visa permits you to legally work in Spain under an internship contract or agreement while giving you legal permission to reside in the country during the duration of your internship contract/agreement.
Once you obtained the proof of the resolution of the authorization, you can request your visa from the nearest Spanish Embassy or Consulate.
Here is a list of documents required for the same:
This visa is designed for students who have completed level 6 education or higher - any lower education will not be accepted. In other words, Bachelor, Master or p.h.D students as well as higher sports education, higher vocational training, and higher artistic and plastic education.
More specifically, the student must have completed these studies within the last two years, although those who are still studying their degree may also apply for this internship work permit.
And those studies could be both in Spain or outside of the country. In other words, you can apply for this authorization whether you are studying in Spain or in your country of origin. If the student is in Spain, he/she must have a student visa at the time of application.
As the whole visa process is done online, it takes much less time and is a lot faster. The maximum resolution time is 30 working days, and if after this period you do not receive any response, by positive silence the resolution is considered as approved.
The time depends on whether we are talking about an agreement or an internship contract.
In the case of an internship agreement, the answer depends on the duration of the agreement. In other words, the maximum is 6 months, but it can be less if the agreement so specifies. However, at the end of these 6 months, it is possible to renew the agreement for a further 6 months. At the end of this year, the employer must change the general regime if he wants to continue with the student-worker.
On the other hand, if it is done under a traineeship contract, the residence card has the same expiry date as the traineeship contract. In this case, the maximum is 2 years, but it cannot be less than 6 months.
But you must keep in mind something important. The application is linked to one company in particular. That is to say, if, at the end of the 6 months of the internship contract you want to change the company, you will have to start another application from 0, since the initial one is not useful.
