Meeting your deadlines entails efficient planning. Once you’ve mastered that, everything else will fall into place effortlessly.

We've all faced a tight deadline before, whether it was when we had to stay up all night to finish an important assignment or when we had to study for an exam the day before. Time management, organization, and communication are the main factors that can help you in your study journey.

Here are some of the best tips on setting deadlines that you can easily fulfill without getting stressed out or overwhelmed:

Make a deadline calendar

Mark all your upcoming deadlines in a calendar and highlight the most important ones, so you can keep track of what’s coming up. Keep track of your study activities and plan time for each one of them.

Don’t overcrowd your calendar

Leave some unscheduled time on your calendar and avoid overbooking it. A packed schedule is what makes students avoid following it - so try to make a flexible schedule and stick to it. It is said that it takes 21 days to form a habit, so make sure you stay on tract with your study routine.

Take care of urgent matters first

If you take care of the most urgent assignments first, you will be relieved from the stress of big deadlines. Remember that prioritizing is the key!

Break down big projects into smaller tasks

Breaking down large projects into different milestones and action items is an excellent way to deal with deadlines. When you divide it into smaller tasks, you'll have a better idea of how much time you'll need to complete each task and whether you'll be able to meet the initial deadline.

Set reminders

Set reminders for your deadlines to avoid feeling panicked. Make a calendar event or set your phone to remind you a few days or even a week before your assignment is due. Make a note on your whiteboard or ask a colleague to check in on your progress on a regular basis.

Poor task and deadline management can eat up more time in your already hectic day and have serious consequences in the long run.
